She also owned a successful outpatient private practice prior to moving to the United States.

Orthopedic Certified Specialists are experts in diagnosing and treating problems relating to the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves.
As there are only a few specialists of physical therapy in the entire country, Rupa’s experience and expertise in diagnosing and treating is invaluable and explains the high success rate in treating the broad array of conditions seen by the Physical Therapy Department here at HealthNOW.
Dr Chakravarty has numerous certifications for different techniques in Physical Therapy practice. She employs an extensive array of manual as well as exercise techniques to manage her patients’ symptoms during their course of therapy. She regularly attends seminars and conferences to hone her skills in the latest methodologies of the field.
Rupa is a certified clinical instructor. She loves imparting her extensive knowledge to Physical Therapy students. She passionately believes that clinical fundamentals need to be strong to be a successful Physical Therapist.
Having been born and raised in a third world nation, the sheer volume of patients in need that she was confronted with, made her diagnostic skills very astute and accurate.
She worked for 10 years in one of the largest hospitals of its kind in Asia. The hospital catered to the lowest socioeconomic group possible. There she realized that one of her gifts was the ability to put a smile on a patient’s face while helping them push through their impairments. She rarely takes “no” for an answer believing that there has to be a solution to every problem. In a nutshell, that defines Rupa’s distinct approach to her treatment – there’s always a solution!
Rupa resides with her husband and son in Sunnyvale, California. When she is not expounding on Physical Therapy, she can be found quietly enjoying a book under the sun or breaking into a sweat at the gym.
