Dr Petersen, a Chiropractor and Certified Clinical Nutritionist, is Clinic Director for HealthNOW Medical Center located in Sunnyvale, CA.  Dr Petersen has been in private practice for 20 years and is co-director of HealthNOW with her husband.

HealthNOW consists of a team of doctors specializing in the areas of internal medicine, clinical nutrition, chiropractic and physical therapy.  The purpose behind HealthNOW is to relieve the patient’s current complaints as well as achieving the goal of optimal health and wellness by getting to the root or underlying cause of a patient’s health condition.  Treatment programs are tailored to the individual.

Dr Petersen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College where she majored in Molecular Biology and received her Doctorate from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in 1983.  Dr Petersen is also a Certified Clinical Nutritionist, receiving this certification from the International and American Association of Clinical Nutritionists.

She remains on the cutting edge of the field of nutrition by attending numerous seminars each year and is very passionate about educating the large population of citizens who are unknowingly suffering from the effects celiac disease and subclinical gluten intolerance. Dr Petersen is part of the Celiac Sprue Association and the Gluten Intolerance Group of North America.

As a national lecturer, Dr Petersen appears regularly as a speaker in various corporations in Silicon Valley and is also a national as well as international radio personality.  She speaks on such topics as Stress, Women’s Health, Weight Loss and Anti-Aging.  She has spoken to over 10,000,000 radio listeners in recent years and has been heard on the CBS Radio Network, KSFO, Public Radio International and the USA Radio Network.

Prior to becoming a doctor, Vikki, at age 16 was awarded the gold medal ranking in figures from the United States Figure Skating Association.

Dr Petersen is the author of a recent book on gluten sensitivity and The Gluten Doctors blog.

When not working she is very active in community projects.

Dr Petersen resides with her husband and three children in California.
