Drs Vikki and Rick Petersen were invited to Washington DC to speak at the recent National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) conference. Their new book, The Gluten Effect, was very well received by the President, Alice Bast, (pictured above) who feels that increased awareness of gluten sensitivity is vital to the public's well being.

Dr Vikki and Rick Petersen spoke about their book and their position as regards gluten sensitivity and celiac disease.

Also present were chefs from around the D.C. area and Dr Vikki was a judge along with Tracey Seaman from Everyday with Rachel Ray magazine and Susan Flinn, author and director of the local Celiac Society.

There were about 400 people present and it was very successful.

The NFCA invited Drs Vikki and Rick to their next conference in Pennsylvania in September where the event regularly hosts 2,500 attendees.
